Getting started
How much do security guards cost?
The monthly price depends on the number of posts, the hours covered (day, night or 24 hours), the days per week, the risk level of the site and extras such as dogs, radios or patrol checkpoints. We price after a free site survey and send a clear written quotation, usually within one business day.
How many guards does my site need?
Start with the posts: each gate, entrance, reception or patrol beat that needs someone on it. A post covered day and night needs two officers on 12-hour shifts, plus relief cover for days off. Our quote planner gives an estimate in a minute, and the site survey confirms it.
How quickly can you start?
Once the proposal is agreed, we brief and deploy officers quickly — urgent cover can often start within days, depending on the size of the site. Tell us your start date in the quote form.
Is the site survey really free?
Yes. An operations manager visits your premises, looks at entrances, lighting, fencing and recent incidents, and recommends the cover you need — with no obligation.
Our officers
How are your officers vetted?
Before and during training we check employment history (including previous employers), authenticate documents and confirm a certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
What training do officers receive?
Induction, basic and assignment-specific training, then regular refresher and on-the-job sessions: search procedures, first aid, fire response, patrolling, observation, report writing and customer care. Training records are open to clients.
What if an officer does not report for duty?
Sign-in times are monitored live at our control centre. If an officer does not report, a relief officer from the nearest office is sent, so your post is never left empty.
Are your guards armed?
No. Our officers are unarmed. For armed escorts or high-risk sites we coordinate with the National Police Service as the law allows, and we support our officers with radios, alarms, dogs and response teams.
PSRA and the law
Is Safezone Protect PSRA compliant?
Yes. We operate under the Private Security Regulation Act, 2016 and the Private Security Regulatory Authority. Our officers are trained and registered as the law requires, and our registration documents are available to clients on request.
Why does PSRA registration matter to me as a client?
The Act provides penalties not only for unregistered providers but also for engaging them. A registered provider also means trained officers, proper employment records and a regulator you can complain to.
Service and contracts
Are we covered if something is lost?
Clients should keep their own insurance, but Safezone also provides indemnity of up to KES 2,000,000 per event for loss shown to result from the negligence of our officers on duty, paid once the investigation is complete.
What reports will we receive?
Occurrence books on site, incident reports when something happens, patrol reports from the biometric checkpoints (on request) and regular reviews with your account manager.
Which areas do you cover?
Our head office is in Nairobi, with regional offices in Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Bungoma serving the surrounding counties. For other parts of Kenya, ask us — we deploy from the nearest office.
Can you also install CCTV and alarms?
Yes, through our affiliate Inovet Systems, which designs and installs CCTV, access control, alarms and fire detection. We plan guards and electronic security together, and our response team can attend alarms.
How do I raise a concern about an officer?
Call the control centre at any hour or contact your account manager. We follow a strict code of conduct: every concern is investigated and acted on — we treat, train, transfer or terminate, but never ignore it.
